Tranquebar Colonial Gin dates back to 1616 and is named after the Danish colony “Tranquebar” home of the Danish East India Company located in south-east India. New and exotic spices imported into Holland were used to infuse new flavours in the traditional ‘genever’ spirit, and Tranquebar Gin has been created froman original and authentic recipe.
Just as in the 17th century, Tranquebar Gin continues to be distilled in Holland, today in Schiedam, which is known as the genever, or jenever capital of Holland.
