A.H. RIISE GIVES DKK 200,000 TO ELITE SOLDIERS
Once again this year, the aid association Conventus Ranae, which helps members of the Frogman Corps, will receive a large sum of money from spirits producer A.H. Riise Spirits.
A.H. Riise Royal Danish Navy Frogman is one of the most popular blends produced by A.H. Riise Spirits. Sales have gone so well that, for the third year in a row, the company is able to donate a large sum, this year totalling DKK 198,575.00, to the aid association Conventus Ranae
Part of this year’s profits from sales goes to Conventus Ranae, which is Latin and means “A Collection of Frogs”. It was Christian Kurt Nielsen, the delighted chairman of the association, who received the admirable cheque.
“The money really means a lot for our work. It will help us create the framework for the network and community that current and former members of the Frogman Corps need. If a frogman needs help, good advice, guidance or something else entirely, the community is ready to help,” says Christian Kurt Nielsen, who himself trained as a frogman in 1984.
In the 80s, Denmark was not involved in any wars, so unlike today’s frogmen, Christian was never sent into a war zone.
“We just trained. But the frogmen from the past 20 years have been through something completely different from the rest of us. For this reason, there is even more need now for Conventus Ranae. The association also helps with support for frogmen who have been physically or mentally injured in the service,” he says.
The collaboration between A.H. Riise Spirits and Conventus Ranae has gone so well that quite recently a brand new blend, named after the association, has been launched. “Frogman Conventus Ranae” is a strong and character-filled spirit with 60 percent alcohol.
“The frogmen must live with the fact that their efforts for Denmark do not receive attention and recognition from the public. Therefore, it is great to be able to show them our support and offer gratitude for their efforts in this way.” At A.H. Riise Spirits, we are proud to be able to continue to support Conventus Ranae in the amazing work they do. And, let’s not forget, that it is first and foremost thanks to our good and faithful customers who continue to buy our products that we are able to give the money to the association,” says Michael Bielefeldt, director of A.H. Riise Spirits.
