A.H. Riise Spirits has achieved a unique international honour. The company has received three stars at the International Taste Institute and received the certification “Superior Taste Award”.
“A.H. Riise Non Plus Ultra Very Rare” greatly impressed the judges in the rum category. It was awarded three stars – the maximum number.

The International Taste Institute is located in Belgium and rates both food and beverages. Some of the world’s largest food and beverage producers such as Coca-Cola, Danone, and Heineken have used The International Taste Institute to rate their products.
The judges at the International Taste Institute are not just anyone. There are 200 selected chefs and sommeliers (wine experts) from leading European restaurants – including several Michelin-starred restaurants. What’s special about the rating is that it is a blind tasting. The judges do not know what kind of product they are tasting when giving their judgement.
Drinks are judged on five different characteristics: first impression, appearance, smell, taste, and aftertaste. Each characteristic is rated from 0 to 100 percent. To achieve three stars overall, the average should be at least 90 percent – A.H. Riise Non Plus Ultra Very Rare received an average of 91.8 percent.
